PATCO is lucky to work with some of the best subs in their respective trades and the quality of the finished product is not only a reflection of PATCO, but of each individual subcontractor as well. I graduated from Sanford High in 1983 and the University of Maine At Orono in 1987. My father, brother and I started PATCO Construction in 1987.
For over 35 years, PATCO has built steel and metal buildings for clients in Southern Maine and New Hampshire. Our decades of success as a commercial construction company is based upon the core values of teamwork, respect, fairness, and integrity. These values drive what we do, how we do it, and who we partner with to design and deliver our custom metal buildings and commercial construction projects. When you build a project with PATCO, you also build a lasting partnership.
My favorite part of the job is that I get to see a project come to life and see all the hard work pay off. Partners for World Health collects unused medical supplies and equipment from healthcare facilities and distributes them to those in need around the world. After witnessing the conditions of hospitals in developing countries, Elizabeth McLellan, RN, MSN, MPH, vowed to do something to help. In 2007, she began gathering discarded supplies from the Maine hospital where she was working.
Success Stories: Building Trust Through Results
We identify punch list items with the client once they are in the space and we complete each task. We also stay in touch with our clients and perform periodic walkthroughs to confirm the building and its systems are performing as expected. A few strategies can help commercial construction business owners ensure stability, growth and sustainability. Patco Construction Services’ portfolio includes a variety of successful projects that highlight their versatility and commitment to excellence. From custom homes that reflect unique architectural styles to commercial developments that enhance community infrastructure, Patco’s work speaks for itself.
It all began in 1985, when Irving Patterson invited his son Mark to come work with him at what was then a small residential construction company. Son Greg joined a few years later as a third partner and helped the company expand into commercial construction. Over the years, the Patterson family has always focused on doing the right thing and putting the customer first, an approach that has earned them loyal customers and helped their company grow. A Sanford native, Irving never could have envisioned that his small family-run business would become a pillar of the Sanford business community and a leader in Maine and New Hampshire’s construction industry. However, when the values of teamwork and integrity are a part of your foundation, it’s easy to see how PATCO Construction has been serving Maine and New Hampshire for over 35 years.
Our Design-build Process
As a kid he played baseball and basketball, and “got his start in construction” playing with Tonka toy trucks and Lincoln Logs. Now, as part of the steel crew for the past year and a half, he gets to work alongside his brother Tony putting up buildings for PATCO Commercial. Our relationship with our clients doesn’t end when the project is built and we turn over the space. The PATCO team is committed to ensuring that our clients are satisfied with the final product and supported as they occupy the building.
In the early years of the company, the Patterson family all worked together to build the business, with Irving, Mark, and Greg taking the lead and Irving’s wife Lorene, and three other sons helping out when needed. “When you are in business with your family you make it work,” says Mark. From the family founders to their employees, everyone at PATCO shares the same values and shows the same attention to detail and desire to exceed customer expectations. We walk with you every step of the way through the process of approvals, design and preconstruction. Whether you are undertaking the process to build a new building, renovating an existing, adding an addition, looking for a face-lift, a re-roof or other miscellaneous repairs, our experienced team is here to help.
Throughout the project, PATCO was more than just an outside contractor. “By making the extra effort to have an in-depth understanding of our needs, they became part of our management team.
